The London-based renowned jeweler, Graff Diamonds, was seeking to renovate their mixed-use commercial building on Madison Avenue, converting the residential second floor into additional retail space. The project entailed extensive structural reconfiguration to convert the existing bottom two stories with two exposed façades into one full-height, cohesive space with an open grand entrance.

 Plan B Engineering designed a complex system of shoring and bracing that provided vertical and lateral stability to maintain the four stories of residence above while the lower façade and second floor were being removed. These temporary stabilization systems allowed the extraction of existing components and the installation of the new structural design, while simultaneously protecting the safety of the contractors and the adjacent community.​
